Three Musketeers 2011: All for Entertainment

Three Muskeeters, the classic novel written by none other than Alexander Dumas. Most wouldn’t be thrilled as this has been made on big screen and even on tv for several times. Different spin-off of the story, actors who portrayed them and a lot more. So why would you watch the new Paul W.S. Anderson’s Three Musketeers? Well, I managed to catch it with our company movie night. Granted that the movie ticket is free, I did grab the chance. With not much expectation, the movie wasn’t so bad. I must say the musketeers got some humor. It’s a bit comical with some romance and lots of action. The movie may not be Oscar winning type but it can be some form of entertainment. It can really be confusing, for those who haven’t read the novel and have watch the previous movie (Man in the Iron Mask).

For the teens, of course, they’ll be dying to watch Mr. Pretty boy Logan Lerman who played the cocky D’Artagnan and his young lady in-waiting Constance played by the British Grabiella Wilde. The writer pretty much dig some lines.

Constance: Are you always this cocky?
D’Artagnan: Only on Tuesdays. And when there are beautiful women around.
Constance: So, you think I’m beautiful?
D’Artagnan: Actually, it’s Tuesday.

And who wouldn’t want to see Resident Evil Milla Jovovich who played Milady de Winter to kick some ass in the French Palace.

Although, I am not really used on watching Orlando Bloom to be the Villain as I still see him that handsome Will Turner from Pirates of the Caribbean. He made the Duke of Buckingham, well laughable and not scary. Whilst, Inglorious Basterds Christoper Waltz made some effortless acting as the main villain of the story. In conclusion, like I’ve said, it’s all for entertainment.

Charlie's Angels (2011)

Charlie's Angels

Haven't had the chance to see the original tv series, all I can remember were kicks and punches of Cameron Diaz, Lucy Liu and Drew Barrymore with their angelic performance as Charlie's Angels in the big screen. They surely made it a box-office hit which is such a shame for the new reboot for TV of the glitz and glamour trio of ABC's new show.

I can't even compare Rachel Taylor, Minka Kelly and Annie Ilonzeh with the previous remake. Of the trio, I must say Rachel and Annie wasn't bad at all but they can improve. Sadly, Minka is a let down. She's such a beauty but her acting wasn't just the like Charlie would be proud of. Her action skills ain't bad but she does need to put effort with her voice.

Annie Ilonzeh, Minka Kelly and Rachel Taylor

For the storyline, I don't see where it is going. Maybe if they do a little spin-off and give the audience something to be excited about then it could actually survive. I hate to see it be cancelled. These beauties should be given a chance.

[Update:] ABC has already cancelled the show.
